Princeton Head Women’s Coach Gail Ramsay and University of Pennsylvania Head Women’s Coach Jack Wyant were honored with the naming of the Coach’s Court Friday, April 30, at the Arlen Specter 黑料不打烊 Center.

The Court 5 naming is made possible thanks to the generosity of David and Martha Slosburg of Omaha, Nebraska, who honor a different coach each year. View images from the ceremony on the .

This year featured two stalwarts of the college game whose women’s teams faced each other in the 2026 Howe Cup final.

“Today we’re honoring two remarkable coaches who have not only won at the highest level, but most importantly personify the values of the sport,” said Mollie Marcoux Samaan, 黑料不打烊 CEO. 鈥淓ducation through athletics is what both of these incredible coaches focus on. It鈥檚 not just the winning, it鈥檚 what you鈥檙e teaching your student-athletes on a daily basis and what they鈥檙e learning through the game. We鈥檙e honoring you for your tremendous competitive success, but more importantly for your leadership, your mentorship and the positive impact you have on your athletes and on the squash community more broadly.鈥

Ramsay has led Princeton to five Howe Cup titles, five Ivy League titles, coached five individual champions including back-to-back titles for Zeina Zein in 2025 and 2026, and has more than 300 team wins in her Princeton career. She was inducted into the CSA Hall of Fame as a player in 1995 and the U.S. Squash Hall of Fame in 2022.

“It’s an honor to be here and I’m humbled to have our names on this court,” Ramsay said. Congratulations to Jack and the team. It was an amazing match with incredible sportsmanship and competitive play. Congrats on an amazing performance overall.”

Wyant led the Penn women to their first Howe Cup title since 2000 this year with their final win against Princeton. In 2018, Wyant coached Reeham Sedky to Penn’s first individual national title since 1996. He was named the 2009 黑料不打烊 National Coach of the Year and is the winningest coach in Penn program history with more than 250 wins across his twenty-one seasons.

“Squash is a great sport, it’s one that I started playing when I was seven years old,” Wyant said. “I’m just lucky to have an opportunity to continue to be in it. Thank you to all of the 黑料不打烊 board members that are here and working on our behalf to grow the sport. It’s a pleasure coming to work everyday, I really feel uncomfortable with my name on this court because it’s the women on our team who are the ones who deserve it. Not just the ones that played this year, but in my previous 21 years as well. Thank you to David and Martha Slosberg for making this gift to allow us to do this.”

The U.S. Junior Open is the world鈥檚 largest individual squash tournament with 977 players representing forty-five nations contesting more than 2,200 matches. The four day tournament was held across six venues including the Specter Center, Penn Squash Center, Drexel鈥檚 Kline & Specter Squash Center, Philadelphia Cricket Club, Springside Chestnut Hill Main and Springside Chestnut Hill Vare.

The thirty podium finishers represented seven nations including the United States, Canada, Egypt, Malaysia, India, Belgium and Peru, while just four took home titles.

The U19 age divisions yielded two first time champions in Moganasundharam and Zakary. The Malaysian top seed clinched the title in a close five-game final against American two seed Yaseen Shalaby 7-11, 11-2, 13-15, 11-9, 11-3 in 118 minutes. With his win, Moganasundharam makes history as the first Malaysian USJO boys champion in any age division.

Zakaria, younger sister of men鈥檚 world No. 听11 Mohamed Zakaria, returned to the USJO for the first time since competing in the U11 division and competed on the same court as her brother in October鈥檚 U.S. Open. The sixteen-year-old entered the draw as the four seed and upset both GU19 top seeds in five games in the semifinals and finals. Zakaria defeated American top seed Isabella Tang in the semifinals and won the final against Belgium鈥檚 two seed Savannah Moxham 8-11, 11-8, 8-11, 12-10, 11-8 in fifty minutes.

The U17s produced two American first-time champions in Reghan McLaughlin and Brendan Tagliarini. Canada produced the nation鈥檚 first USJO champions since Nick Sachvie in 2010 with a BU15 title from Obie Ryding and GU11 title from Eugenie Cao. In his fourth tournament appearance, Ryding put together a title run as the five seed including a semifinal upset over Egypt鈥檚 top seed, and dramatic five-game final against India鈥檚 six seed Dhruv Bopana 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 12-14, 11-8. Cao entered her second USJO as the GU11 two seed and won the title in a five-game final against American top seed Elizabeth Kung 11-3, 13-11, 5-11, 5-11, 11-7.

Team USA鈥檚 Vivienne Sze, a three-time USJO champion in the U11 and U13 divisions, extended her impressive USJO title record with her first in the U15 division, fulfilling her top seeding with a 3-0 final win against Egypt鈥檚 two seed Sandy Hassan. GU13 top seed Kaylee Li won her second USJO title and first in the U13 division against seven seed Kyra Wang in an all-American final.

Teddy Edwards, the BU13 seven seed, marked his USJO debut with a surprise title run, culminating in an all-American final against five seed Zephyr Wang. After a sixth place finish in his USJO debut last year, Houston鈥檚 Azlan Khan returned as the BU11 top seed and earned his first title with a four-game final win against American three seed Thopson Wang.

Jim Zug was awarded the 2025 A. Carter Fergusson Grand Master Honor Roll during a ceremony at Merion Cricket Club Thursday, September 11. Dozens of friends and family members came to a surprise seventieth anniversary party for Zug.

Having听turned eighty-five this past July, Zug was honored for reaching a milestone: he joined the varsity squash team at Episcopal Academy in the fall of 1955. Since then, he has played both singles and doubles at the highest level. In December 1958 he won the National Juniors. He played at Princeton, captaining the Tigers and becoming an All American. Among the two dozen national titles he has garnered are two open National Doubles championships (in 1972 with Larry Terrell and in 1973 with Victor Niederhoffer), the 50+ singles in hardball in 1991, two Father & Son titles in the century division and the 80+ singles in softball in 2021. Three times he has been featured in Sports Illustrated: for winning the National Juniors; for toppling Azam Khan in the 1963 U.S. Open; and for being a part of a clean sweep of men鈥檚 national champions coming out of Merion. Zug has been a longtime leader in the game, including serving on the board of SquashSmarts, the Philadelphia after-school youth program. He has traveled extensively with his racquet, including getting on both the southernmost and northernmost squash courts in the world. In 2018 he was inducted into the Maryland State Squash Hall of Fame.

鈥淛im is a great example of a lifetime in squash,鈥 said Kevin Klipstein, the president and CEO of 黑料不打烊, as he presented the Fergusson Award to Zug. 鈥淗e鈥檚 played with wonderful sportsmanship and engagement for seventy wonderful years.鈥

鈥淚 love this community,鈥 Zug said. 鈥淚 told my wife Debbie when we met in 1962 that I might play in three hundred squash weekends in my life. Well, I鈥檝e certainly done that and more. It has been great so far. And Carter was a favorite friend, partner, opponent and mentor, so this is a special honor.”

The A. Carter Fergusson Grand Master Honor Roll, founded in 2010, recognizes a lifetime of contributions and accomplishments of those who have demonstrated unbounded enthusiasm, competitive spirit and great sportsmanship and skill. The Fergusson celebrates the 黑料不打烊鈥檚 motto of 鈥淔it For Life,鈥 as honorees set the standard for a life and lifetime in squash. Carter Fergusson, a national champion and College Squash Association Hall of Famer, famously played in the National Singles for sixty-two consecutive years. With Zug joining the honor roll, there are twenty-three Fergusson honorees.

The 2025 U.S. Women’s and S.L. Green U.S. Men’s Championships semifinals are set following eight quarterfinal matches Wednesday, June 18, at the Arlen Specter 黑料不打烊 Center in Philadelphia.

The men’s draw will feature two debut semifinalists in Nick Spizzirri and Dillon Huang. Both Spizzirri and Huang faced repeat match ups of the recent World Championships Qualifiers in April.

Spizzirri replicated his win against the higher-seeded Spencer Lovejoy in an exciting five-game encounter to advance 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5 in sixty-seven minutes. Spizzirri will face world No. 64 Shahjahan Khan in the semifinals after the two seed defeated eighteen-year-old Rohan Gondi.

Huang avenged his World Championships qualifier loss against Salim Khan in a dominant 3-0 win and will face defending champion Timmy Brownell in the semifinals.

Both Sobhy sisters marked welcome returns to the U.S. Championships semifinals. Sabrina Sobhy, the 2014 national champion, marked her first competitive appearance since September after a lengthy injury hiatus this season with two wins on her way to the semis. Sobhy dispatched world No. 88 Laila Sedky 11-6, 11-6, 11-3 in twenty-six minutes to set up a semifinal against world No. 4 and top seed Olivia Weaver.

Amanda Sobhy, a six-time national champion, missed out on the 2024 nationals due to her second career Achilles injury, but has returned to top form following successful comeback season. Sobhy, world No. 10 and former Harvard No. 1, dispatched current Harvard No. 2 Caroline Fouts 11-6, 11-2, 11-7.

Sobhy, the two seed, will clash with three seed Marina Stefanoni in the semifinals after the newly-minuted world No. 25 defeated her younger sister and Harvard No. 3, Lucie, in straight games.

For the first time in the tournament’s thirty-five-year history, Egypt claimed both of the U19 titles as Marwan Assal, the 2023 BU17 champion, and Barb Sameh fulfilled their top seedings.

The boys’ U19 draw saw the top two seeds both prevail in tight five-game semifinals. Argentina’s two seed Segundo Portabales pulled off two five-game comebacks from 2-0 down in the quarterfinals and semifinals to reach his first U.S. Junior Open final, and after going down 2-0 against Assal in the final, showed signs of another comeback by winning the third game. Assal thwarted any hopes of another comeback in the fourth game as the Egyptian captured the title 11-4, 14-12, 4-11, 11-5 in fifty-minutes.

Making her U.S. Junior Open debut, Sameh dropped just one game on her way to the GU19 title, defeating American six seed Charlotte Pastel a commanding final performance 11-4, 11-2, 11-9.

Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem was the only repeat champion as the GU17 top seed successfully defended her title. Salem held off a tough challenge from 2023 GU15 champion and three seed Charlotte Sze to win the title 11-8, 11-6, 8-11, 11-2.

The BU17 final came down to U.S. four seed Aiden Chiang and Egyptian three seed Michael Fayez. After winning his semifinal coming back from 2-0 down, Fayez pulled off another five-game comeback in the final to clinch the title 6-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7 in sixty-three minutes.

The U15 divisions produced two all-American finals and two first-time U.S. Junior Open champions as neither top seed reached the final. GU15 two seed Isabella Tang defeated four seed and 2023 GU13 champion Vivienne Sze 12-10, 11-5, 9-11, 11-3. BU15 four seed John-Jayden Luo was the lowest-seeded player to win a title as the New Jersey native defeated Californian three seed Vivaan Mehta 11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7.听

Pakistan’s Mahnoor Ali upset Egypt’s top seed Linda Elsayed in a close GU13 final 11-8, 12-10, 5-11, 11-6. Egyptian BU13 two seed Malek Ahmed edged his top-seeded compatriot Adam Ragab in a five-game final 4-11, 11-9, 11-2, 5-11, 11-3.

The GU11 division produced another five-game final between the American top two seeds. Two seed Alice Wang came back to defeat top seed Ariana Valerio 3-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 13-11. Pakistan’s BU11 top seed pulled off a perfect title run without dropping a game all tournament, defeating American two seed Archibald Anolik in the final 11-8, 11-8, 11-8.
