Position Summary

Chelsea Piers Connecticut is seeking an energetic and motivated Squash Professional to join its squash program. The Squash Professional will deliver high-quality private lessons, junior and adult programming, camps, tournaments, and community events.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic coach who connects well with players of all ages and abilities, takes initiative, and is committed to helping grow participation and revenue across the squash program.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide private and semi-private lessons for junior and adult players.
• Coach junior programs ranging from beginner and developmental classes to advanced tournament-level training.
• Lead adult clinics, round robins, match-play sessions, introductory programs, and special events.
• Assist with school-break and summer squash camps.
• Help plan and operate ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ-sanctioned tournaments, including Bronze, Silver, Gold, and JCT events.
• Build strong relationships with players, parents, members, and prospective customers.
• Follow up with new players and help guide them from introductory experiences into lessons and ongoing programming.
• Promote Chelsea Piers programming and identify opportunities to grow participation.
• Maintain accurate attendance, lesson, roster, and player-development records.
• Communicate professionally and promptly with families, members, colleagues, and club leadership.
• Support program setup, court organization, equipment management, and general facility standards.
• Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director of Squash on scheduling, programming, staffing, and player development.
• Represent Chelsea Piers Connecticut with professionalism, enthusiasm, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong squash playing and coaching background.
• ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ coaching certification preferred.
• Experience coaching both junior and adult players.
• Ability to work with beginners as well as competitive tournament players.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable taking initiative.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.
• Willingness to assist with program development, player recruitment, and customer follow-up.
• Availability during peak programming hours, including weekday afternoons and evenings and selected weekends.
• College, professional, or high-level competitive squash experience is preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Successful completion of all required background checks and youth-safety training.
• must have documentation to work in the US

Schedule

This position requires flexibility based on programming and customer demand. Peak working hours will generally include weekday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday or Sunday mornings and afternoons. Tournament and camp coverage will also be required at designated times.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on coaching qualifications, experience, certification level, and lesson volume. The position includes opportunities to earn income through private lessons, clinics, camps, programs, and special events.
